Topografía de un Paraíso, 2014

Working with architect and
designer Luís Echeverría, a
3D topography of Puerto Vallarta was created and then positioned within a rambling structure built
with common building materials.
In unison, working together, the clamps sustain the balance of
this small chunk of paradise within the installation.

Rendezvous 17: This Land
Is My Land, 2014

Oil paint on canvas, plywood and
printed cloth.
69.5 x 99 x 3.5 cm.

This work is an intervention with a  painting executed by the artist Aldolfo Espinoza de los Monteros. Painted in the early 70s, I found this piece hanging on the wall of one of my favorite jazz lounges, El Patio. Years after an initial request, the owner graciously allowed the evolution.

Influenced by Mondrian, Fontana and my Scottish heritage, this romantic landscape  has been  zoned for development.

Graphite on paper and wall installation

As travelers, I think our tendency is to focus on the visual aspects of a trip, capturing images of the places and people we want to remember, or share with others. In this group of drawings I decided to record a different aspect of travel…the vibrations as we move from one place to another.

is a group of drawings that captures the vibrations and movements while travelling by train. In this project, I
wanted to explore the possibilities of repeated sequences between designated stations and find out if the drawings would follow a pattern or not in their relationship to each
